Exposure draft legislation: Small business tax incentives
Draft legislation released today will introduce two tax incentives that support small businesses to train and upskill employees, and improve their digital and tech capacity.
The legislation released for public consultation will introduce the productivity measures that were included in the March 2022 Budget but have not been legislated.

Small businesses looking to compete in an increasingly online world can soon take advantage of additional support announced today by the Minister for Small Business Julie Collins.

The Albanese Government is committed to saving Australian businesses time and money and is encouraging them to participate in eInvoicing Week, which kicks off today.
Opinion piece: Policy banning unfair contracts will shield SMEs from exploitation
The cleaning companies were multi‑billion‑dollar firms, but most of their customers were small businesses. So the big firms wrote contracts that allowed them to increase their prices. To make things worse, the contract said that if the small businesses didn’t like the price rises, they had to pay huge penalties to cancel the contract.
