Interview with Greg Jennett, Afternoon Briefing, ABC
GREG JENNETT:
The Queensland Government has introduced enabling legislation to what is a single chamber parliament there in Brisbane, introducing the shared equity Help to Buy Scheme. Presumably it does pass because they have the numbers there. But what will that actually enable on Help to Buy?
JULIE COLLINS:
Helping more Queenslanders into home ownership
The Albanese Labor Government welcomes the introduction of state legislation to deliver Help to Buy in Queensland which will assist more Australians into their own homes.

Reforms strengthen small business access to procurement
The Albanese Labor Government recognises the important contribution small businesses make to the Australian economy and is committed to a level playing field for small businesses when competing for Australian Government contracts.
Opinion piece: More support to help Australians into home ownership
‘Something to look forward to, something to work towards’.
That’s how Gemma, a student from Canberra, described the Albanese Labor government’s Help to Buy shared equity program.
Like so many young people across Australia, she’s facing challenges when it comes to home ownership.
Delivering more help for Australian home buyers
The Albanese Labor Government is taking another step to deliver Help to Buy to bring home ownership back into reach for 40,000 low and middle income families.
Public consultation begins today for the Help to Buy Program Directions, which will help Australians understand how our shared equity program could assist them into home ownership.
New partnership to drive more homes for Tasmanians
The Albanese Labor Government’s Social Housing Accelerator will help to transform the lives of more Tasmanians with a new development to deliver 15 homes in Hobart.
The $9.2 million project includes more than $7 million in funding from the Albanese Labor Government’s Social Housing Accelerator and will be delivered by Homes Tasmania.
Opinion piece: Youth Homelessness Matters Day

Like many young people across Australia, they were keen to hear how we plan to work with other governments to do more in supporting those experiencing housing challenges and improve housing affordability.
