The Albanese Labor Government will make significant new housing investments in next week’s Budget to help deliver our comprehensive Homes for Australia plan.
The Prime Minister convened National Cabinet on Friday, where Premiers and Chief Ministers backed the following new measures in the Budget to help Australians build, rent and buy:

Growing Australia’s construction workforce to build more homes
The Albanese Labor Government is investing $90.6 million to boost the number of skilled workers in the construction and housing sector, as part of a big focus on housing in the 2024–25 Budget.
This funding is essential to help close the national skills gap and provide the skilled workforce the economy needs to increase housing supply.
Albanese Labor Government delivering a fairer deal for the franchising sector
The Albanese Labor Government is committed to a fair playing field in franchising and is taking new action to improve the $135 billion sector which includes thousands of small businesses.
Today the Government has released its response to the Independent Review of the Franchising Code of Conduct by eminent small business expert Dr Michael Schaper.

Work has begun on a new housing development supported by the Albanese Labor Government that will deliver more affordable homes for key workers in Schofields.
