Government introduces consumer protections for Buy Now Pay Later
The Albanese Government will today introduce new consumer protection legislation for Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) that will see BNPL operators regulated as consumer credit.

Tax reform to ease cost‑of‑living pressure, support investment and a Future Made in Australia, and create a fairer system
The Albanese Labor Government is delivering a tax cut for every taxpayer because we want hardworking Australians to keep more of what they earn.
This Budget continues our government’s methodical approach to tax reform and includes measures to make meaningful tax changes to benefit all Australians, support investment, build a Future Made in Australia and strengthen compliance.
Albanese Government’s Joint Select Committee into social media
The Albanese Government will move to establish a Joint Parliamentary Select Committee into the influence and impacts of social media on Australian society.
Social media is part of everyday life in Australia, and social media companies play a role in determining what content Australians are exposed to online.
