As 2023 heads into holiday season, people are being reminded that some toys and batteries can pose a risk to young children and babies.

The Albanese Government is strengthening the superannuation system to deliver better outcomes for the 16 million Australians with superannuation savings.

KIERAN GILBERT:

The Government will implement all recommendations of Treasury’s review of the News Media and Digital Platforms Mandatory Bargaining Code (the Code).

The Albanese Government has appointed Judy O’Connell and Andrew Mills as part-time members to the Board of Taxation, each for a three-year term. Dr Julianne Jaques KC has been reappointed until 30 September 2025.

These appointments will strengthen one of our most important advisory boards with more experience and more expertise.

The Australian Consumer Survey, released publicly today, has helped sharpen the priorities for Commonwealth, State and Territory Consumer Ministers at recent a joint meeting.

The Albanese Government has today opened consultation on the next tranche of reforms to strengthen integrity and accountability in our tax system.

While the vast majority of tax agents do the right thing, the PwC tax leaks scandal has shown that the current regulatory framework is insufficient to respond when misconduct occurs.
