Today I announce Ms Katherine Tuck has been nominated as the full‑time Director to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) commencing from 16 January 2023 to 31 July 2024.
The EBRD is an international financial institution founded in 1991, which uses investment as a tool to build market economies.
Australia has been a member of the EBRD since its inception. Australia and Korea rotate the roles of Director and Alternate Director for our constituency, which also includes Egypt and New Zealand.
Ms Tuck is the current Assistant Secretary, Indo‑Pacific and National Security Branch in Treasury. From 2018 to 2021 Ms Tuck was the Senior Treasury Representative, South‑East Asia at the Australian Embassy in Jakarta.
The Government would also like to thank Mr Philip Lindsay for his significant contribution as Director and Alternate Director during his time at the EBRD.
Mr Lindsay completes his appointment at EBRD at the end of October this year.
Mr John Swieringa, Minister‑Counsellor at the Australian High Commission in London, has been nominated to take on the Director role for an interim period from November 2022, until Ms Tuck’s commencement in January 2023.
