The Albanese Labor Government is investing in Youth Insearch Logan to help young people stay connected to their community, school or workplace.
The youth foundation was awarded a $360,000 grant under the Government’s Strong and Resilient Communities (SARC) Activity – Inclusive Communities grants program.
Our Government is all about creating more opportunities for more young people in communities like Logan and local projects like this are vital to that aim.
This is about supporting more young people in our community to live independent and fulfilling lives.
This grant will support young people between 12 and 18 to reconnect with their community, school, and training or employment, as well as improve their mental health and build resilience.
The foundation will do this through clinical and peer support, facilitated by workshops, support groups and individual support.
A total of 34 organisations around Australia will be awarded more than $10.3 million in funding under the open competitive grant round.
Since 2022 the Albanese Labor Government has provided close to $45 million in SARC grants.
The competitive grant round was open to community organisations that work to improve the social and economic participation of disadvantaged people in the community, with a focus on:
- young people aged 12 to 18 years who are, or are at risk of:
- being disengaged, marginalised;
- having limited engagement with education/training;
- people with disabilities and/or mental health issues to participate in the community, and work towards becoming or remaining independent and engaged in the economy and/or society;
- women who experience, or are at risk of experiencing isolation or discrimination to participate in the community and/or economy and increase their self‑agency; and
- people who are unemployed to increase participation in their community and/or increase their capacity to engage in employment, training, or existing employment services.
As a Labor government, we’ll always take care of Logan and the southern suburbs of Brisbane and other communities like it across the country.
