Good morning, everybody and thank you for having me out west and for showing up in such incredible numbers for a conversation this morning about the Budget and the economy more broadly and the cruc

Introduction Can I begin by acknowledging the traditional custodians of these lands, their culture and customs – 

Thanks Laura [Tingle] for your very kind introduction, and the Board and Maurice, for having me back at the National Press Club to speak for the sixth time, but the first time as Treasurer –

Thanks for that lovely introduction. Good morning everybody, can I begin by acknowledging the elders, customs and traditions of the traditional custodians in this part of the land.

Can I begin by acknowledging the elders, customs and traditions of the Ngunnawal, the Ngambri, and all of the First Nations people of Australia.

I acknowledge, as I think all of the speakers have, the Ngunnawal and the Ngambri people, the elders, customs and traditions.

In the interests of time, I’ll only speak for about 45 minutes if that’s okay.

I'm really excited to be introducing this bill today, and particularly to follow the Minister for Climate Change, having just presented some of the broader climate change bills to the Parliament.
