Today I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Susan Alberti AC and Mr Peter Hogan as part-time general members of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) Advisory Board for a period of three years.
The ACNC Advisory Board provides sector-specific advice in areas such as the not-for-profit sector, law, accounting and taxation to the ACNC Commissioner to assist in decision-making.
Dr Alberti AC is founder of the Susan Alberti Medical Research Foundation and is recognised for her eminent service to the community through philanthropic and fundraising support for a range of medical research, education and sporting organisations, and as an advocate for improved health care services for the disadvantaged.
Mr Hogan is a seasoned tax professional with close to 40 years of tax experience in both the public and private sectors. After retiring as a tax partner from PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2008, Peter has continued to be actively involved on boards of listed corporations and in roles with community focused outcomes.
These appointments continue to add to the high level of skills and experience available to advise the ACNC Commissioner, ensuring that the ACNC Advisory Board has appropriately qualified members to deal with the variety of issues raised in the charities and not-for-profit sectors.
