It was my privilege to be sworn in today as Assistant Minister to the Treasurer.
The Turnbull Government is committed to its economic agenda. The Liberal Party has always been the government of strong economic policy and budget reform and I am dedicated to upholding that tradition. I look forward to working with the Ministerial team to implement our strategic plan and strengthen Australia’s economy.
As Assistant Minister to the Treasurer I will be looking at the issue of our nation’s housing affordability. Having grown up in a small business family, I understand the pressures that people face when it comes to property loans and rent and I want to help ensure that the property market is fair and accessible to all Australians.
We are a growing nation, where opportunity still exists regardless of economic status and where the virtues of ‘fair play’ and a ‘fair go’ were coined. The Coalition government wants all Australians to have an honest go at a good life. I am extremely proud to be a part of this government and the Turnbull Ministerial Team.
While I have greater responsibilities nationwide, I am still very focused on the Deakin electorate.
I would like to again sincerely thank my constituents for the trust they have placed in me, which has led to this new opportunity to help further our nation’s economic interests.
