These new inflation numbers show that we’re making welcome progress in the fight against inflation, but we understand that people are still doing it tough.
Monthly inflation moderates to new four‑month low
New figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistic show that the monthly inflation indicator moderated 0.3 percentage points in July and the government’s policies are helping.
Monthly inflation is now at a four‑month low and trimmed mean inflation has hit a six‑month low.

Nominations to the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development
The Australian Government will nominate Rob Nicholl for appointment as the Executive Director at the World Bank Group, Nghi Luu as the Alternate Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund and Natalie Horvat as Alternate Director at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
