Albanese Labor Government funding to deliver new homes for Aboriginal elders in South Australia

The Albanese Labor Government is partnering with the South Australian Labor Government to deliver 40 culturally‑appropriate homes in Adelaide for Aboriginal elders.

The independent living units in Bedford Park, are being built with the assistance of a $3 million grant from the National Housing Infrastructure Facility (NHIF).

The Albanese and Rockliff Governments are delivering long-term cost of living savings to more than 1,600 Tasmanian households, with a $16.6 million partnership for energy upgrades in social housing properties.

Social housing properties are some of the most energy inefficient in Australia, with most built more than 20 years ago before minimum build standards.

More than 26,000 people have been helped into home ownership in the first six months of the expanded Home Guarantee Scheme with more support on offer in 2024.

Since July last year, the First Home Guarantee and the Regional First Home Buyer Guarantee have been open to joint applications with friends and family members – not just single or married applicants.
