New figures confirm inflation has passed its peak
The latest ABS data confirms that inflation has passed its peak and is beginning to moderate.
These new numbers show annual inflation peaked last December but it will still remain higher than we’d like for longer than we’d like.

Reserve Bank Board appointments
The Albanese Government has appointed Dr Iain Ross AO and Ms Elana Rubin AM as part‑time members of the Reserve Bank Board, each for a five‑year term. Dr Ross will commence on 7 May 2023 and Ms Rubin on 31 August 2023.
Review of the Reserve Bank of Australia
Today I am releasing the Review of the Reserve Bank of Australia, the first external review of our central bank and the operation of monetary policy in four decades.
The Albanese Government agrees in‑principle with all the Review’s recommendations and will now work with the RBA, the parliament and other stakeholders to implement them.
